Television (TV) is the widely used consumer electronic equipment around the world. Consequently, R&D groups and industry have developed solutions and thereafter carried out analysis finding how to improve the TV experience, such as the advance of Connected TVs (also called Smart TVs) as well as interactive TV (iTV) solutions provided by regional standards. Regarding the regional digital TV (DTV) and iTV solutions, each region has its own standards and interoperability scenarios have not been explored so far.
